Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Vilamoura (2024)

Aquashow Park Hotel is a contemporary resort situated in a bustling location, offering spacious and modern accommodations. It is a 4-star family hotel that boasts unlimited free access to the Aquashow Park water park, which includes thrilling rides and attractions. The hotel's prime location near Quarteira beach and Vilamoura town provides guests with easy access to other local tourist destinations.

Probably one of the best water parks in Portugal. It’s not large but has enough to get the adrenaline pumping. The place is well laid out, don’t have to walk long distances to access any of the water rides. It’s clean, the water quality is well maintained and the lawns are well groomed for you to lie down and relax after between rides or just to sun bathe. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. One can rent a locker for a deposit of 10€ (5€ will be refunded after you return the key) for your belongings. Try and book online tickets for convenience and discounts. If you are bored of beaches and want an adrenaline rush give this place a try. 😊

This is about Aquashow not the hotel but google are a bit Dumb ! So we came in mid January! We live nearby but had never been before, the big outdoor park is closed from about November till March , however the inside pools and soft play area are great for families ! Some things are height restricted but our 3 years old could do everything in the soft play and absolutely loved it, perfect for a cold or rainy day ! Let’s talk cost, adults are free in the soft play 10 euros each for the kids , for one hour, beer and snacks available for adults ! I’m told but gets busy in the holidays but was quiet when we arrived . I’ll review the wet area separately but the soft play is 5 stars (out of season)

Quality hotel, quality food and staff are really friendly.Stayed here for a week and would come back again, especially with the entrance to the water park next to it.Is a bit far from the centre but you can catch a bus easily.Main swimming pool could be with being a bit deeper.

Me and my family had a wonderful stay here at the Aquashow park hotel, as we have stayed here a few times over the past few years and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms and the rest of the hotel are so modern and clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking to stay here.

It was a great experience at the hotel simply because of the staff. Every individual was very helpful with everything specially Milla. Though the water park was closed when we were there, we used the indoor pool which is small but does the job. Outside pool is big enough but only for summers. Food was great with plenty of options. Breakfast had many choices. The only trouble is the location but still not bad. It is quite close to vilamoura beach and closest train 🚆 station is 5 minutes drive away. Overall I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Will definitely go back.

Yes yes yes yes!!! Worth every cent. I tried everything - massage, fishies, all saunas and the cold water dip - absolutely amazing! We went there end of December, less crowded (actually, very few people) - it made the visit absolutely perfect :) we will be coming back in summer, to trial the outdoor slides.

Great place to stay with a family. Location is slightly awkward and you will need to get taxis or ubers but other than that it is a brilliant hotel and has excellent service. Cannot fault the staff at all. And the hotel is very clean and kept very well. Rooms were very spacious too and beds very comfortable.

Perfect family hotel, quite in terms of partying, plenty things to do for children. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside I d say about the food, very little options specially breakfast. Rooms are clean and bright, location is great, I would recommend to get a car if you want to go to Quarteira city there is a lot of restaurants near by the Marina. I would stay again for sure in this hotel. Hotel is close enough to city Quarteira, it's a bit of walking distance and there is now walk path which is pitty. Otherwise you could walk to Quarteira for sure.

Fantastic hotel with truly outstanding service, rooms and food… highlight of our trip to Portugal was stopping in this hotel for 1 night with tickets to the aqua park included.Dinner menu was a surprise, expected to be held to ransom by the prices, but actually very reasonable and the food was good. Breakfast was a buffet and was included in our stay, suffice to say I ate about three peoples worth of food and then sank to the bottom of the wave pool next door :)

It started great, which a great female colleague at reception, explaining everything. The room had unstable hot and cold wate, but it wasn’t deal breaking as the reception agreed to change my room. The most frustrating part is that Igor from reception asked me for cash to rental equipment for hotel activities, rather than using my credit card associated with the stay. One comes to the hotel wallet free for vacations, and the reception employee ask the visitor to travel 5 minutes under the harsh sun to go to the ATM to get cash and only then enjoy the hotel. That shouldn’t be que standard of service that this place ambitious. If it is, I’m not coming back again.

Don't go in August, most slides/rides involve a queue of 1hr - 1.5hrs.Its a good water park, but you won't get to go on everything and will spend most of the day queueing. Some of the red/hard slides are a bit lame. Left feeling we hadn't got our money's worth. The staff make a decent effort to keep things moving, but there's just too many people. There are massive queues to get in at 10am, everyone wants to get there promptly. Despite being open till 7pm, everything starts to shut down at 6pm, so the queues can empty. At no point in the day does it get quieter. The changing rooms are pathetically small. There's plenty of grass to put towels down on to sit, but most of it is damp/wet even away from rides (to be fair it needs to be watered otherwise it would be a dry dust bowl), and you'll spend most of the day in a queue anyway.

Spent quite a bit here i guess it may of been the wrong time not sure if it's hotels of travel agent but both promoting outdoor water when it was closed. Gym was closed. Hotel don't even bother respond to your emails. As for the location it is very remote nothing is walking distance you will have to take bus or taxi. I recommend using Bolt it's cheaper and efficient. Good for kids but go in the right time check website and whomever your booking with.Indoor water park is good cost a bit but a lot to do there. To the hotel if you read this can you look in to my emails about lost property. Not worth much but has sentimental value.

Wow amazing got here when it was super sunny but not too busy so got on everything several times rapid! All the rides are awesome and surprisingly super fast and colourful too many too describe and on the rides I left my phone in the lockers which you rent for €5 and they have a €5 deposit that you get back if you take back the key etc but they are sk worth it. The food is great even the burgers but eat outside they do better food like chicken on the grill 😁 didn't do the animal shows but seen them passing on the water coaster they look good also the water coaster... amazing goes on for ages! Deffo recommend for all ages take plenty of suncream it's not got a lot of shade also beach shoes the ground is super hot! You can buy a waterproof cover for your phone for €6 worth it! Amazing time!! Recommend to all ages 100%

June 2023 - stayed at the Aquashow Hotel and visited the water park too for 4 days. We were a group of 15 family members who had flown in from various corners of the world to spend time together as a family. The hotel is a standard 3 star - check in was smooth and there were some stars who went above and beyond - the restaurant and bar manager in particular: unfortunately the hotel didn’t provide some of the amenities we have come to expect as standard with most hotels around the world:The room cleaning was poor and basic. Loo rolls were not replenished voluntarily - had to ask. No water fountains and lack of drinking water provision even in the restaurants - this is especially poor practice in this day and age! No body cream provided. No tea, coffee, hot water facilities in the rooms. Mini fridges didn’t work in some of the rooms. Shower screens were leaky and left the bathroom floor in puddles. Blocked sink - was resolved but would expect housekeeping staff to have flagged this to the maintenance team and not a guest having to request this! And while the breakfast was very good and catered for most options - dinner was repetitive and not particularly appealing - choices were poor. Distinct lack of veg options and no labelling of foods. Same pizza option - margarita every single day! How difficult is it for a hotel to provide drinking water in the reception area for guests?Location wise the hotel and water park are not ideal for much else. OK for a short stay of 2/3 days.

Superb family friendly hotel. Pleasant staff / decent food/ clean / wonderful kids club workers. Oh and Hugo (barman from the pool bar) makes the best co*cktails in the algarve, no joke. ***Only important suggestion would be the placement of 2 lifeguards to oversee the indoor/outdoor pools***

🏨🌊 Aquashow Park Hotel in Quarteira is a paradise for families and water lovers! 💦🌟 From the moment we arrived, the water park right next door had our kids jumping with joy. 🤩 The rooms are comfy, and the views of the water park are spectacular. 🏊‍♂️🌴 The breakfast spread is a treat, offering a wide variety of delicious options to kickstart our day. ☕🥐 The best part? The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. 🙌💯 Our stay here was a splash-tastic experience, and we can't wait to come back! 🤗🌴

Fantastic hotel with great entertainment for the children. Next door to the huge water park which is part of the hotel. Food is nice and reasonable. Local restaurants nearby but not much in the way of shops. You need to travel by taxis or local bus. Lovely staff and very family friendly hotel! Would definitely visit again. A*

I have only ever used the indoor parqinho. Best place to take your kids, but you need to lower the prices of your indoor parqinho. There are so many people who would come here every day just to have an hour without their overly energized child not driving them crazy. Create a membership for locals, even a punchcard with a free visit after 5. I personally know 100 dads that would agree. It may not be fairly priced for local Portuguese (€10/E per hour), but the experience the children have in this amazing indoor park cannot be matched by other parqinho.

Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, spacious bedrooms with balconies overlooking the poolside or the waterpark next to itThe meals were lovely, good choices at the breakfast buffe. Customer service was excellent from the reception to the staff at the bar and the restaurant.Indoor pool with jacuzzi and outdoor pool for adults and children.Discounts for guests to use at the waterpark. The waterpark is a separate building from the hotel. It's beside the hotel but not in the hotel. About 3 minutes walk.We went off-peak and on a weekday, so no issues with crowd or queues. We had a lovely stay, comfy beds and pillows, well laid out bathroom, enjoyable meals and drinks. We would love to visit again.Enjoyable experience.

I thoroughly enjoy Aquashow, the park and the Hotel. There is something new everytime we visit, and my family has made it a yearly tradition to visit. The staff don’t bother, the cleaning room staff are pleasant and the activities at night in the hotel are entertaining for families, there is karaoke, games, bingo, etc.The breakfast buffet is always delicious and enjoyable, just as the snacks are at the bar.The outdoor pool is fantastic, as is the indoor one and the jacuzzi. It’s diverse and fun. For kids there is also a small playground near the pool. I cannot comment on the spa, but it looks pleasing. The view from the hotel to the park from the room is always a bonus and beautiful at night.

The staff here were great and nothing was to much trouble for them and they were fantastic with our children. The rooms were immaculate and pristine. The breakfast was your usual buffet type and was great. The bar snacks were wholesome and very reasonable in price, I would recommend the lasagne I had it more than once very tasty.

Very good aqua park. You can stay all day so best to plan for the day. Most people arrive with umbrellas, towels, chairs and blankets. There are lots of green areas to set up your ⛱️ like at the beach. Not much shelter otherwise. As well as the water slides, wave pools and roller coaster. They put on shows with birds of prey and parrots and reptiles. The birds and animals are also taken around the park for paid photos.Food from restaurants was reasonably priced for a theme park type environment. We had a great day. Only problem was the queues were quite long for the bigger rides/slides but we had a great time.

Didnt atay in hotel used the spa in the swimming pool. Lovely only complaint the floors in the changing rooms get veey slippery and my husband slipped over. They really need duck boards in there

A nice place to stay, a little away from town, but wouldn't be put off by that, download the user app and book those. Into town was about 4.40 euros. The bus one way was over 10. There was 4 of us, so half the price of a round of soft drinks to put it into a bit of context. All nice and clean, we were half board and the breakfast was very good. The water park next was brilliant if a bit busy, but we did go at the very peak!!
